Mr. Lester W. Gordon, 97, of Rochester, passed away at 3:30 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015, at Hickory Creek of Rochester.

In Fulton County, on Oct. 21, 1917, Lester was born to Frank and Sophia Tetzlaff Gordon. As one of eight children, he shared his childhood with four sisters and three brothers.

On Dec. 8, 1948, Lester and Margaret Mary Maglecic were married in the First Christian Church of Rochester by Rev. Blackwood. They shared 46 years of life’s adventures. Their union produced a son, Gary. She passed away on Oct. 16, 1994.

Lester is lovingly remembered by his son: Gary Gordon, Rochester; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Lester in death are his parents; wife; four sisters: Pauline Cranmer; Ida Shafer; Josephine Warner; and Mabel Umbaugh; and three brothers: Arthur; Howard; and Carl Gordon.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. Sunday, July 26, at Good Family Funeral home, Rochester, and one hour before the 11 a.m. service Monday, July 27, also at the funeral home, with Rev. Russell Gordon officiating.
