Veva M. Ward, 71, of Huntington, formerly of Wabash, died at 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

She was born April 21, 1944 in St. Marie, Ill. to Elmer and Sadie (Oliver) Murray.

Veva was a 1963 graduate of Northfield High School. She retired from General Tire in Wabash. Veva enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking, going to garage sales, and spending time with her Maltese pup, Blu.

She is survived by her daughter: Lisa Ward, Huntington; brother: Earl (Karen) Murray, Wabash; two sisters: Mary (Joe) Custer, Wawaka; Jean (Hobert) Isaacs, Lafayette; her pup: Blu; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Joe and John Murray; and her two sisters: Goldie Green; and Louise Davidson.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 27, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Andrews. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Preferred memorial is St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
