INDIANA — Students attending college in Indiana may be getting more for their money, according to a recent study by “Money” on the top colleges and universities in the country.

The study initially looked at 1,500 four-year colleges and universities, but factored out those with military service requirements, evidence of financial difficulty and insufficient data, leaving 736 schools.

Of those the following Indiana locations made the list: University of Notre Dame, number 44; Purdue University, 101; Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, 127; Indiana University, 157; DePauw University, 184; Valparaiso University, 209; Franklin College, 237; Wabash College, 246; Indiana Wesleyan University, 254; St. Mary’s College at Notre Dame, 295; Hanover College, 318; Earlham College, 367; University of Evansville and Butler University, tied at 412; Goshen College, 451; Taylor University, 458; Ball State University, 483; Bethel College, 625; and Huntington University, 668.

The study took into account 21 areas, including things like six-year graduation rate, peer quality, instructor quality, value-added graduation rate, affordability, net price of a degree, student loan default risk, student and parent debt, affordability for low- and moderate-income students, graduates’ earnings, quality of career services and market value of alumni skills.
