Moyer, HerbertHerbert E. Moyer, 84, North Manchester, died at 7:45 p.m. Monday, July 6, 2015, at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester.

Herbert was born Sept. 30, 1930, in Peru, to J. Lee and Bertha (Easterday) Moyer, both deceased.

He worked for Heckman Bindery in North Manchester, for 10 years in sales. He retired in 1993 after 18 years as a sales representative for Associated Libraries. He married Dora E. Betten on Oct. 31, 1952, and she survives. He was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Herbert attended Congregational Christian Church, North Manchester. He was a member of American Legion Post #286 in North Manchester. Her was also an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling. He and his wife, Dora, spent many winters in Ocala, Fla.

He is also survived by his son: Robert (Tanya) Moyer, North Manchester; daughters: Diana (Brad) Lankford, Warsaw; and Judy (John) Moyer-Schmitt, Ocala, Fla; grandsons: Craig Lankford, Noblesville; Matthew Lankford, Fishers; brother: Meredith (Bev) Moyer, Warsaw. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and two sisters.

Calling hours will be from noon until 2 p.m. Friday, July 10, before the 2 p.m. funeral, at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester. The service will be officiated by Pastor J.P. Freeman. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.

Memorials can be made to the Alzheimers Association, Indianapolis.
