A new Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints temple will be opening in July in Carmel. This temple will service members of the Mormon church throughout Indiana.

An open house will be July 17-Aug. 8, free and open to the public.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has a meeting house in Warsaw, serving members in Kosciusko County and portions of Elkhart County. The local congregation is part of the South Bend Stake containing wards in Elkhart/Goshen, Plymouth, South Bend/Mishawaka, Niles, Mich., and Warsaw.

Currently for members to attend temple, they must travel to Northern Chicago, the opening of a temple in Carmel will allow closer travel, and support the state’s economics.
