Mildred M. Engle, 89, of Greenwood, formerly of Kewanna, passed away peacefully at 6 p.m., Sunday, June 28, 2015, at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born on Dec. 22, 1925, in Fulton County, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Huldah (Campbell) Easterday.
She was a 1944 Grass Creek High School graduate. On Nov. 4, 1950 she married Marvin Engle. He preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 2011. Mildred formerly worked at RBM in Logansport for several years and she was a homemaker. She was a member of Kewanna Church of Christ and the Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include her daughter: Kathryn “Kathy” (John) Perkins, Greenwood; grandchildren: Jessica (Kenn) Sanders, Greenwood; Justin (Debbie) Decker, Bloomfield; Carry (Samuel) Lucy; and Robert (Kristina) Troutman, both of Virginia; step-grandchild: LJ Perkins; great-grandchildren: Ashley and Abbie Sanders; Aiden Lucy; Saige Muelver; Savannah and Sierra Troutman; and step great-grandchild: Jalee Perkins.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter: Karen Marie Lawson; brothers: Leslie Eugene Easterday; and sister: Betty McVay.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 2, at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Kewanna, with Pastor Aaron McCombs officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, at the funeral home and also one hour prior to the time of service on Thursday.
Burial will be at Citizens I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Kewanna.
