Hazel “Skip: D. Ewing, 92, a resident of Miller’s Merry Manor Nursing Home, Warsaw, formerly of Etna Green, passed away at 4:28 a.m. Sunday, June 28, 2015, in Miller’s Merry Manor.

Skip was born Aug.  29, 1922, to Jacob and Thelma (Thomas) Hight at Etna Green. She has been a lifelong resident.

She was a very faithful member of the Etna Green Church of Christ. She was a member of the ONO Club and a graduate of Etna Green High School. Skip had been an Accounts Payable clerk for a mobile home manufacturer and later on would become the accounts payable clerk for the Triton School Corporation. She will be greatly missed by all.

She married Jack A. Ewing on Feb. 26, 1942; he died March 18, 1966. She is survived by her daughter-in-law: Tanya Thomas, New Cumberland, Pa.; two granddaughters: Amanda May; and Andrew Ewing; and a grandson: W. Aron Thomas; great-grandchildren: Sasha Hollett; Michaela Vuittonet; and Layla Gervais; along with three great-great-granddaughters; and three great-great-grandsons.

Proceeding in death was her husband: two sons; Brian; and Alan Ewing; Grandson: Shawn R. Thomas; and two sisters: Betty (Hight) Stouder; and Aleta Long.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 1,  to share memories in the Etna Green Church of Christ, Etna Green.

A celebration of Skip’s life will follow at 1 p.m. in the church with Pastor Dan Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow in Etna Green Cemetery, Etna Green, Indiana.
