Lloyd Freeman DePue
Lloyd Freeman DePue, 71 of Winamac, died at 2:46 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 2015, in the Pulaski Memorial Hospital, Winamac. He had been in declining health for several years. Lloyd accepted Christ as his Savior in Nov. 1964 and is now in the presence of the lord.
He was born on Aug. 4, 1943, in Argos, to Lyle & Cleo (Mathias) DePue. He had lived in Winamac since 1976, coming from the Bass Lake area. On Dec. 27, 1975 in Logansport, he married Karla Rae Garner and together they shared the past 39 years together.
Lloyd was a Nursing Home Administrator in Knox. He and his wife owned of Sunday’s Restaurant in Winamac, and worked side by side for nearly 20 years; and was employed at First National Bank of Monterey- Monterey.
Lloyd was a graduate of Argos High School with the class of 1961 and a graduate of Grace College in 1972. He Honorable served in the United States Army from April 6, 1965 to March 10, 1967. Lloyd loved playing basketball and baseball in High School and golf in his adult years
He is survived by his wife: Karla R. DePue, Winamac; daughter: Carli Louise DePue, Indianapolis; sons: Beau Games DePue, Winamac; and Kristian Deckard DePue, Winona Lake; sisters: Marjorie Davis, Crossville, Tenn.; Lena Tomforde, Boca Raton, Fla.; brothers: John L. (Rosemary) DePue, Argos; and Lawrence (Jean) DePue, Buchanan, Mich. Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents and sister: Mary Swihart.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. June 29, at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos, with Rev. Robert E. Rice Jr. of the Walnut Church of the Brethren.
Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos.
