Samsung has introduced a new “Safety Truck” that the company hopes will help drivers navigate around semis better.
Samsung is attempting to solve problems such as determining whether it’s safe to pass and changing traffic signals with a built-in, wireless camera on the front of the truck that broadcasts a live feed to screens mounted on the back of the truck, so drivers behind the semi can see what’s going on in front of it.
So far the truck is being tested in Argentina, but Samsung is working on getting approval to bring it to the United States. The goal is that it will help reduce traffic accidents caused by drivers in passenger vehicles not being able to see around much larger semis.
