Superhero Show and Museum

If you are a big fan of superheroes, now is your chance to come and see some of the famous tools they used to save humanity. Join us for the superheroes show and mini museum by Family Time Entertainment at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, at the Milford Community Building. Learn how Superman became a hero and see all of the items in the mini museum. Batman and Robin, Wonder Woman, Captain America, The Avengers, the Flash, Green Lantern, Percy Jackson, the Powder Puff Girls, Doctor Who, Star Trek, Star Wars and Ghostbusters are all included in the show.

Learn about superpowers and how superheroes act. There will be lots of audience participation and comedy and everyone will find out what makes a superhero or super villain. Some people will find out if they have super powers. We hope one of your super powers is super reading. The mini museum has over 35 items, including a Star Trek Phaser and Anakin Skywalker’s lightsaber. This event is free. Bring your friends and family.

Teen Event

Teens are invited to join us for another fun superhero activity. At 2 p.m. Thursday, June 25, come to the library meeting room and make comic book coasters. All materials will be provided. Bring your friends and have a great time making some coasters you can use at home. After the craft, we will enjoy a snack.

Family Summer Story Time

Come join us for the third week of family summer story time. We have two sessions: 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Friday, June 26. Dorothy Haney will share stories about heroes at school. When you come to participate in story time, each family will receive a book to add to their home library. There are six story times left, so if you have not already registered, do it today. We read books, make a craft, and enjoy a snack. Call us at (574) 658-4312 to register or ask any questions.

Ice Cream Social

You scream, I scream, we all scream for ice cream! Join us for an ice cream social for the whole family from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, June 26. Come to the library parking lot for two free scoops of ice cream served to you by the Milford library staff while supplies last. Donations are appreciated and go to support summer reading program activities for the whole family. For more information about the social, call the library.

Freegal

Have you tried Freegal? Milford Public Library patrons can use their library card number and pin, and download free music. You can download up to five free songs every week – that’s 260 free songs a year. There are thousands of songs, ranging from today’s hits, classical music, rock, country, oldies, and so much more. Try it out today, by clicking the link on the Milford Public Library homepage. Or, if you have questions, come in and ask. We’d love to help you get set up with some sweet tunes.
