Ardith K. Kares, 74, of Bremen, passed away at 1:30 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2015, in Community Hospital of Bremen.

Ardith was born on March 19, 1941, the daughter of the late Carl and Mary Kathryn (Bodell) Anderson. On Jan. 19, 1979, she married Richard Kares.

She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years: Richard; three daughters: Melody (James) Kiefer, East Lansing, Mich.; Sherry (Thomas) Chang, Bremen; and Traci (Jay) Stoneburner, Bremen; five grandchildren: Deidre Kiefer; Meredith Kiefer; Chelsey Chang; Libby Chang; and Jaymi Stoneburner. She is also survived by her brother: Edward (Pat) Anderson, Bremen.

Ardith will be remembered for her love of antiquing, gardening and cooking. Her family will forever treasure the many gatherings at holidays and other times, eating wonderful food, laughing, playing games and having fun. She attended the Bremen Church of the Brethren. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m., Sunday, June 21, in Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 22, in the funeral home with Rev. Charles Krieg officiating. Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery. The family prefers memorials to be made to the Community Hospital of Bremen.
