Claypool Town Council Schedules Budget Meeting For July
The Claypool Town Council held its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, June 15, at the Claypool Lions Club Building. The council scheduled an open administrative budget meeting for 4:30 p.m. Thursday, July 9, at the Lions Club Building.
The council decided to postpone some issues for next month’s meeting due to lack of information on certain subjects. One topic postponed is the purchasing of trees for the town. One quote was presented by Donald Miller, board member. The quote for 15 Cleveland pear trees would be $85 per tree. An additional $25 would be added for installation cost per tree for a total of $110 for each tree.
Miller noted donations would be needed to be able to afford the trees so the issue has been postponed until the next meeting. The next meeting will take place at 7 p.m. Monday, July 20, at the Lions Club Building.
In other news:
The community expressed interest in a town-wide garage sale, but the council needs someone to take charge of the event. Board Member Niki Miller suggested someone should volunteer to take charge and at the next meeting a date would be set for the town-wide garage sale.
At least two department heads were not at the meeting because they were taking care of the flooding problems in the area due to the heavy rainfall Monday afternoon.
