Jack StumpJack L. Stump, 84, North Webster, passed away at 4:35 a.m. Saturday, June 13, 2015, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.

He was born on Sept. 6, 1930, in Noble County, to Chester Leroy & Erma Lucille (Hontz) Stump.

He was a lifetime Noble and Kosciusko County area resident, graduated in 1948 from North Webster High School and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. On Dec. 3, 1949 in Etna, at the United Methodist Parsonage he married Ellie D. Miller who preceded him in death on Dec. 22, 2014. He retired from the maintenance department at Maple Leaf Farms in 2000 after 23+ years and formerly worked at Monsanto in Ligonier for 13 years.

He was a member of Salem Community Church and American Legion Post 253 in North Webster where he was a past commander.

He is survived by two daughters: Debbie (Kurt) Church, Huntington; and Diane (Jerry) Schuh, Warsaw; son: David (Nancy) Stump, Ligonier; 8 grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nine step great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Joy Weimer, Ligonier; and Judy Crider, Churubusco. He was preceded by his parents and wife.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and again from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at Owen Family Funeral Home, North Webster. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, at the funeral home, with Pastor Gary Colbe officiating. Burial will follow at Salem CEmetery, Wilmot, with military graveside rites performed by the North Webster American Legion.

Memorial bequest may be given to Jack Stump Funeral Fund, care of Owen Family Funeral Home, North Webster.
