Indiana-based artist David Michael Slonim’s exhibit entitled “Field of Vision” will be on display at the Honeywell Center Clark Gallery, Wabash, from June 20 to July 26.  A reception is scheduled from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, July 11. corporate sponsorship for this exhibit is provided by Monica Radecki, Radecki Galleries, Inc.

Over the past 25 years, David Michael Slonim’s paintings have gradually transitioned from depictions of nature to abstractions derived from nature. Of this transition he says, “These new paintings are about structure and freedom, harmony and discord, confidence and awkwardness, expectation and surprise… abstract paintings are visual reflections of what life feels like rather than what it looks like.”

Slonim’s work is represented in Scottsdale, Ariz., Jackson Hole, Wyo., Denver, Colo., Bozeman, Mont., and Cody, Wyo. His work is collected nationally and hangs in public, private and regional museum collections. This is David Michael Slonim’s first public solo exhibition in Indiana in nearly 10 years. David chose Clark Gallery in Wabash as the place to introduce this new body of work to his home state to honor the memory of long-time friend and supporter, Richard E. Ford.

Supporting the visual arts, the Clark Gallery hosts more than ten exhibits per year and features students, amateurs, and professionals. Because the Gallery encompasses the semi-circle of the Honeywell Center Porter Lobby, foot traffic exceeds 170,000 guests per year. The Clark Gallery is open to the public. Artwork may be purchased through the Center’s box office between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. For a complete program listing, visit www.honeywellcenter.org/clark-gallery or call (260) 563-1102.
