Naomi RidenourNaomi R. Ridenour, 80, residing in South Bend, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2015, at the Bidant Inpatient Hospice, Greenville, N.C.
She was born Feb. 10, 1935, in South Bend, a daughter of Kenneth Willis and Mattie Marie (Taylor) Mendenhall, and has remained a lifelong resident of South Bend.  She moved to North Carolina earlier this year following the passing of her husband.
On Oct. 17, 1954, in South Bend, as Naomi Mendenhall, she was united in marriage to Louis Charles Ridenour. Together, they enjoyed 60 years of marriage until his passing on Jan. 31, 2015.  She was also preceded in death by a brother, Phillip W. Mendenhall.
Mrs. Ridenour is survived by two daughters: Kristi (Gary) Landaw, San Juan Puerto Rico; Charlene (Ronald) Lappin, Winterville, N.C.; six grandchildren: Amy (Jorge) Ortiz; Joseph (Cassandra) Landaw; Melissa (Jordan) Edward; Joshua (Irma) Lappin; Bethaney (T.J.) Ryals; and Steven Lappin; and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters: Nancy (Richard) Barrier, Lake Placid, Fla.; and Elaine (Dennis) Krathwohl, Bremen; and a brother: Rev. Kenneth H. (Betty) Mendenhall, South Bend.
Mrs. Ridenour was a member of Ironwood United Pentecostal Church, South Bend. Early in her career, she worked as a Secretary for the Bendix Corp. and retired as a Secretary for the South Bend Community School Corp.
Services for Mrs. Ridenour will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 11, at Ironwood United Pentecostal Church, 4609 South Ironwood Drive, South Bend.  Rev. Kenneth Mendenhall, Rev. Gary Landaw, and Rev. Ronald Lappin will officiate. Family and friends may gather at the Church from 5: p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday prior to services.  Private interment will take place on Friday at Southlawn Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be offered to the Church.
