Jeanne Elaine Silveus, age 90, of Warsaw, passed away at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2015, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw. She was born in Mishawaka, on Aug. 27, 1924, to Clarence W. and Anna Mae (Holloway) Best.
She was united in marriage to James C. “Mac” Silveus on July 12, 1943. She was a lifetime Warsaw resident. A member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Warsaw she was active in the Rosary Alter Society and the RCIA Team at the Church. In addition, she was a member of Lambda Chi Omega Sorority and was longtime volunteer for Right to Life of North Central Indiana. She was formerly employed by Warsaw Community High School in the Attendance Office, Study Hall and the Cafeteria.
Survivors include seven children: James Christian “Chris” (Mary) Silveus, Indianapolis; Anthony “Tony” Silveus, Warsaw; Pattijean (Tom) Cullen, Atlanta, Ga.; Scott (Melissa) Silveus, Warsaw; Toby (Tony) Sumpter, Warsaw; Renee Tripp, Warsaw; and Lisa (Ahmet) Savasir, Fishers. In addition, 25 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren survive Jeanne. Her husband; a daughter: Vicki Clemens; and sisters: Patricia Pifer; and Betty Rizer; preceded her.
Visitation hours are scheduled from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2015, with a Rosary service at 7:30 p.m. at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 10, at Sacred Heart Catholich Church, with Father Phil DeVolder officiating.
