Leona Irene KeimLeona Irene Keim, 90, of Ligonier, passed away at 1:03 p.m. Monday, January 19, 2015, at Avalon Village Healthcare in Ligonier. She was born on Aug. 10, 1924, in Dane County, Wis. to William and Lillian (Detwiler) Keim.

She attended public school in Wisconsin and lived most of her life in Milwaukee, Wis. and  San Jacinto, Calif. before moving to Ligonier and Syracuse area. She worked as a domestic servant and custodian in a California hospital for many years.

She was a former member of the Community of Christ Church in San Jacinto, Calif.

She is survived by her nieces: Wanda Brown, Goshen; Virginia (Mike) Wyland, Milford; Patty (Art) Horn, Mentone; Janet Coy, Goshen; and Gwen Coy, Arlington, Texas; nephew: David Hire, Ligonier; and numerous great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister: Marcella Coy; two brothers: Marvin and Clarence Keim; three half-sisters: Jane Sharp; May Ralston; and Betty Ratliff; half-brother: Donald “Bud” Hawk; niece: Betty Hire; two nephews: Dale and Marvin Coy.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 7, in the Syracuse Cemetery.

Memorial bequest may be given to I.U. Goshen Home Care and Hospice, Goshen.
