Richard E. Overholser, 71, of North Manchester, died at 12:55 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2015, at Golden Living Center, Kokomo.

He was born on Feb. 17, 1944, in Huntington County, to Walter E. and Nettie Jane (Howes) Overholser, both deceased. He married L. Anne McClain on Nov. 19, 1967, and she survives.

Richard was employed at CDS, Fort Wayne, as a computer programmer from 1992-1996, a Vietnam war Veteran, and was a member of Liberty Mills Church of the Brethren. Richard graduated from Lagro High School in 1962. He graduated with honors from Ivy Tech where he received an AS Degree in Computer Programming in 1994. He was employed at Manchester University for nine years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #286, North Manchester. He was a staunch conservative and loved sports.

Surviving Richard are his wife; daughters: Vontellia S. Robbins, Warsaw; and Alta Jane Overholser, Peru; brothers: Robert (Ginny) Overholser, Huntington; Mark (Rhonda) Overholser, Huntington; sister: Wilma (John) Litchenberger, Rwen, Ohio; grandchildren: Geoffrey Fugate, Michigan City; Andrew Robbins, Warsaw; Jordan Robbins, Warsaw; Audrey Grace Overholser, Peru; Kayla Enyart, Huntington; great-grandchildren: Aurie Martin; Ryder Randol; and Dayton Fugate, all of Huntington.

Preceding him in death are his parents; two brothers: John and Harold Overholser; and one sister: Mary Ellen Bitner.

Memorial services are at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 29, at Liberty Mills Church of the Brethren. Family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. June 29, at the church. Burial will follow at Marion National Cemetery, Marion, IN.
