The family of Jeanette Harvuot recently established a scholarship fund at the Kosciusko County Community Foundation in her memory. Harvuot was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, having grown up in Claypool.
After obtaining degrees from Indiana University and Purdue University, she spent over 50 years working as a teacher including teaching kindergarten and also English and speech at the high school level. Locally, Harvuot taught at North Webster High School and Warsaw Community High School.
The Jeanette Harvuot Memorial Scholarship Fund will help graduates of Warsaw Community High School who are pursuing degrees in education.
“It is fitting that Mrs. Harvuot’s family would choose to honor her by helping educate the next generation of teachers,” said Suzie Light, executive director of the Community Foundation.
Since 1968, Kosciusko County Community Foundation, Inc. has brought caring people and charitable endeavors together for the good of the community.
The Community Foundation is a public charity, and gifts made to the Foundation are tax-deductible. For more information about the Community Foundation, visit www.kcfoundation.org, call 574-267-1901, or visit our office at 102 E. Market Street, Warsaw.
