The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the area.

The watch is in effect until 10 p.m. tonight.

NWS reports that thunderstorms are likely through the afternoon and into the evening. These storms could be accompanied by high winds, which could cause damage.

Thunderstorms are possible on Wednesday as well. At time of posting, no severe weather was reported for the weekend.

Kosciusko, Elkhart, Noble, Marshall, Fulton, Whitley and Wabash Counties are included in the thunderstorm watch.
