Louise WeaverLouise (Moore) Weaver, 100, of Leesburg, passed away at her home on Thursday, May 14, 2015.

She was born March 29, 1915, to Flora (Crone) and George E. Moore in their farmhouse on Highway 13 near Converse Indiana. She was raised there and traveled to the one-room Drook schoolhouse in her teacher’s horse and buggy; after six years, she transferred to nearby Mier, which had three rooms and running water. She graduated from Converse High School where she had the leads in two plays and two operettas. She and her family attended Richland Chapel Methodist Church.

She attended Earlham College in Richmond and then lived and worked in Columbus, Ohio, for several years. She moved to Marion and worked at Indiana and Michigan Electric Company where she met her husband James M. Weaver; they wed in 1939, and were married for 55 years. They lived in Marion for ten years, where their only child, Charles, was born. Mr. Weaver was transferred to Fort Wayne where they lived for five years. Louise directed choirs at Grace Methodist in Marion and at Trinity Methodist in Fort Wayne.

In 1955, they were transferred to Muncie and resided there for 20 years. Louise worked at Ball State University and was active at High Street Methodist Church and in Phi Beta Psi sorority.

When Mr. Weaver retired in 1975 from I and M after 45 years, they moved to Old Mill Place on Lake Tippecanoe in Leesburg. They were active at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse where Louise volunteered in the church office for over 30 years.

Louise treasured grandkids, neighborhood families and friends, music, her pontoon boat, gardening, birds, her gazebo, and her beloved cats Georgie, Iris, and Missy.

She was preceded in death by infant triplet sisters, her parents, her husband in 1995, brother: Fremont Moore, Marion; and sister: Betty Miller, Bluffton. Also, sisters-in-law: Berneice Moore, Marion; and Ruth Moore, Marion; and brother-in-law: Wayne Miller, Bluffton.

She is survived by her son: Charles E. (Marsha) Weaver, Muncie; three grandchildren: Jim Weaver, Dayton; Becky (Clark) Dawson, Cincinnati, Ohio; and Bob (Kelly) Weaver, Indianapolis. Her 10 grandchildren are: Caleb; Sam; Jack; Clare; Max; Foster; Bonnie; Tate; Kate; and James.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 23, at Calvary United Methodist Church, Syracuse. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday. Private graveside services take place on Sunday. Memorials may be sent to Calvary Methodist Church, Syracuse.
