A big first inning helped carry Whitko past Tippecanoe Valley in a Three Rivers Conference softball game Wednesday night.

The visting Wildcats scored six runs in the first frame and went on to top the Vikings 12-2 in the league contest.

Darian Dotson and Amanda Shepherd led the offense for Valley. Each player had a pair of hits, including a double, and an RBI. Katie Prater had a hit and an RBI for the Vikings.

Valley, now 3-15, will host Culver Thursday and play at Warsaw on Friday.
