Ronald UleryRonald L. Ulery, 73, of Rochester, passed away at 5:04 p.m., Thursday, May 14, 2015, at his residence.

On Nov. 17, 1941, Ron was born in Twelve Mile to Richard and Rosella Bean Ulery. Growing up he shared his childhood with two sisters and four brothers. Ron was a member of the last class to graduate from Twelve Mile High School in 1961.

Ron and Carolyn F. Weakman were married on Oct. 5, 1963, in Cass County and shared 51 years of life’s adventures. Their union produced two daughters and a son, later two more branches were added to the family tree with eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

As a tool and die machinist, Ron worker for Sealed Power. He also worked in maintenance at Argos Community Schools. “FORE” was often heard by Ron at the Mill Creek Golf Course, where until last month, he was manicuring the greens. An avid golfer, Ron enjoyed playing the eighteen holes. Playing a round of poker with friends was a lot of fun too. To relax, Ron read historical fiction and western novels by Louis L’Amour.

Ron is lovingly remembered by his wife: Carolyn; his mother: Rosella Ulery, Twelve Mile; two daughters: Debora Chaney, Bellevue, Neb.; Brenda VanMeter (Dale “Tom”), Rochester; a son: Rod Ulery (Kisia), Rochester; eight grandchildren: Trishia, Joshua, Alyssa, Elizabeth, Tommy, Jade, Erin and Allison; four great grandchildren: Ryan, Aurora, Coda and Champ; a sister: Betty Evans, Logansport; four brothers: Donald Ulery, Twelve Mile; Larry “Jay” (Mary) Ulery, Peru; Rich (Clara) Ulery, Rochester; Robert (Laura) “Bob” Ulery, Logansport; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Ron in death are his father and a sister: Shirley Ulery.

Private services will be held for Ronald L. Ulery. Interment will be in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery.
