WARSAW – The rain was no trouble for the Warsaw girls tennis team Monday night.
The Tigers moved indoors and collected a 4-1 win over Goshen in action at the Warsaw Tennis and Fitness Club.
The hosts won both doubles matches in straight sets to win the Northern Lakes Conference matchup.
The Warsaw No. 1 doubles duo of Camille Kerlin and Hanna Rice posted a 7-5, 6-2 win.
Warsaw got a win from the team of Sydney Hartman and Athena Schlitt at No. 2 doubles as the pair notched a 7-6 (7-1), 6-2 victory.
Liza Lewis came up with a 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles for the Tigers.
Rosie Fleming was victorious at No. 3 singles by a 6-3, -2 count for Warsaw.
Ella Knight lost in three sets at No. 2 singles for the Tigers.
The match since it was moved indoors due to the rain was a varsity only affair.
Warsaw improves to 5-7 overall and 3-3 in the NLC.
The Tigers are scheduled to finish a suspended NLC match Tuesday night at NorthWood. That match, which was halted by rain on May 5, is tied 2-2 with the No. 2 singles match still to be completed. Warsaw will then compete in the NLC Tournament starting on Wednesday at Plymouth.
