Pastor Lyman F. Erickson, 88, Warsaw, formerly of Baileyville, Illinois, died Wednesday, May 6, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born on Aug. 28, 1926, he was the son of Albin and Winnidell (Drake) Erickson.
Lyman was a Pastor of the Baileyville Baptist Church, Baileyville, Illinois, Maranatha Bible Church, New Kensington, Pennsylvania, Calvary Baptist Church, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Bethel Bible Church, Argyle, Iowa., Aulds Chapel, Monroe, Louisiana, and most recently preached at Grace Village Assisted Living in Winona Lake, until August 2014. Lyman also served several years in the Christian Seviceman’s Center Ministry in Norfolk, Virginia and San Antonio, Texas. Lyman was a member of the Independent Fundamental Churches of America and The American Legion of Watertown, South Dakota.
Pastor Lyman married Beulah Case and later Rosalyn Timblin, both wives preceded him in death.
He was a WWII Veteran serving in the Army-Air force.
Survivors include his three sons: David Erickson, Baltimore; John (Marcia) Erickson, Warsaw; and Tim (Shelby) Erickson, Mukwonago, Wisconsin; two step sons: John (Betty) Engle, Pennyslvania; and Robert Engle, Long Beach, California; one brother: Robert Erickson, Sioux Falls, South Dakota; one sister: Marilyn Cole, Chicago. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Jonathan Erickson, Indiana; Daniel (Diana) Erickson, Illinois; Joseph Erickson, Indiana; Abigail Erickson, Matsumoto, Japan; Haily Erickson; and Blair Erickson, Wisconsin.
Preceded in death by his parents, two wives one sister: June Crook and one brother: Larry Erickson.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 15, at the Baileyville Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Replogle officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, May 14, at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home, Freeport. Burial will be in Cranes Grove Cemetery.
