The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for parts of northern Indiana.

The watch is in effect until 8 p.m. tonight.

Kosciusko, Elkhart, Noble, Whitley and Wabash Counties are affected by the tornado watch. A watch does not indicate that a tornado is happening, only that atmospheric conditions could create a tornado.

Additionally, thunderstorms, some possibly severe, should also be expected in the area throughout the afternoon.
