Roster Set For First Grace Women’s Golf Team

Grace College SportsWINONA LAKE – The initial roster for the first Grace College women’s golf team is complete with the signing of eight players for the 2015-16 season.

After Lauren Keiser became head coach Denny Duncan’s first signing, Duncan added seven other talented high school graduates for Grace’s inaugural season in the fall.

April Bishop is from Larwill, Ind., and attended Whitko High School. She was president of her student council and FCCLA. She has played golf since middle school and was the first female golfer in the history of WHS to make a hole-in-one during a match. She has posted the lowest scoring average on her team over the last three years.

Amanda Gifford is from Mooresville High School and lives in Camby, Ind. Gifford is an experienced player with over 50 tournaments in high school. She is the only Mooresville girls’ golf athlete to qualify for IHSAA regionals.

Stevie Luebbert was a two-sport standout at Northrop High School in Fort Wayne. Standing at 6-foot-2, she was able to dominate the inside on the basketball court and can overpower golf courses. Luebbert was a four-year letterwinner on the course and reached the IHSAA regionals twice. She was a two-time First Team All-Conference honoree and had a nine-hole average of 46 as a senior.

Lauren Keiser from Pataskala, Ohio, is a natural-born leader who excelled in golf and cross country during the same season in high school. She was the number one player on the boy’s golf team and a state qualifier in cross country.

Emily McDermit attended Carroll High School in Fort Wayne where she was a member of the highly successful Charger golf program. McDermit brings a tremendous work ethic, positive attitude and an unusual willingness to serve. She posted a nine-hole average of 48.3 in 2014.

Libby Tully, who hails from Bristol, was a three-sport standout at Elkhart Central High School. She excelled in golf, gymnastics, and softball. She was First Team All-Conference as a senior, Second Team All-Conference as a sophomore and junior and has helped the Blue Blazers to three straight IHSAA regionals.

Rylee Wolendowski attended McCutcheon High School in Lafayette where she lettered all four years. Although hampered by nagging injuries, she demonstrated significant improvement as a player during her career. She has been a leader in the classroom as well and represented McCutcheon at the 2014 IHSAA Leadership Council.

Aspen Rogers is from Battle Ground, Ind., where she attended McCutcheon High School. Aspen is a straight hitter, who keeps the ball in play with excellent course management skills. She was All-Conference and Team MVP during her career.
