Wawasee Tennis Earns Home Win
SYRACUSE – Having not won since the first match of the year, the Wawasee girls tennis team was hungry for a win. The team should rest well tonight after a 4-1 win against visiting West Noble.
All three of Wawasee’s singles courts picked up wins, led by a shutout at No. 2 from Nealy Thanasrivanitchai over Lesley Guerrero. Chelsea Carolus nearly match the feat at No. 3 with a 6-1, 6-0 victory against Kaylee Coverstone.
Jada Antonides held down the No. 1 spot with a 6-4, 6-1 triumph over Haley Teel.
Wawasee’s two doubles also prevailed, with the grouping of Kabrea Rostochak and Jazlyn Gehlhausen a two and three victor over Tiffany Byers and Lupita Romo.
West Noble’s one doubles went the distance to beat Wawasee, scoring a 6-2, 6-7, 6-1 win from Bailey Kruger and Vanesa Ratliff against Charity Parker and Ashley Larson.
Wawasee won all five of the JV singles courts, with wins from Madison Rhodes, Lauren Horn, Brittney Jackson and two from Brianna Haessig. Horn and Courtney Larson, Brooke Fick and Madison Cooper, as well as Alison Troutman and Elizabeth Brugh picked up doubles wins for the Lady Warriors.
