Library activities for the week of Saturday, May 2 through Saturday, May 9:

Friends of Library

The friends of the library are having a short meeting at 10:30 a.m. to finalize plans for the art auction in June. Those wanting to contribute time to the Syracuse library are welcome to attend.

Apples to Apples

The teens are making an all chocolate dirt cake and playing the matchmaking game Apples to Apples. They will meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, for an hour of good discussions and crazy connections.

Laser Show

At 7 p.m. Friday, May 8, students and families have the opportunity to attend a free laser show at the Wawasee Middle School. The laser show is to encourage reading during the summer break. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Niagara Falls

The adult book club, One Book, One Hour, is reading the memoir “Too Close to the Falls” by Catherine Gildiner, now a successful psychologist that began having adventures as a hyperactive 4 year old. She was a delivery sidekick out of her father’s pharmacy, and discovered the darker side of human existence at an early age. The book is told with a humorous edge that motivates the reader to follow Gildiner onto her next discovery. The book club meets the second Wednesday of the month to discuss the book. Copies are available through the library at (574) 457-3022.
