DENVER – The Tippecanoe Valley softball team dropped an 8-0 final Wednesday night at No. 1 ranked North Miami.

North Miami, led by star pitcher and Indiana University bound Josie Wood, are the Class 1-A defending state champions.

Wood fired a three-hitter Wednesday and struck out a whopping 20 Valley batters to raise her season mark in the circle to 9-1.

Katie Gunter, Kassidy Shepherd and Abby Betten each had a hit for Valley. Shepherd took the pitching loss for the Vikings.

Valley (1-9) will host its own tournament on Saturday.
