Joan MarksJoan Marks, 90, of Huntsville, Ohio, passed away at 10:17 p.m. Friday, April 24, at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, Ohio.

She was born Nov. 8, 1924, in the Etna Troy township of Whitley County, the daughter of William and Irene (Heintzleman) Clingerman.

Joan worked at Blue Bell, the 10 Pin Restaurant, and was a nurse’s aide at Columbia City Nursing Home for 28 years. She lived in Whitley County until 2000 when she moved closer to her daughter in Huntsville. She bowled and competed in bowling leagues; and was especially proud of bowling a 600. She enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles and watching westerns.

She is survived by her daughter: Becky (Cloyd “Bud”) Wallbrown, Huntsville, Ohio; grandchildren: Lisa (Jeff) Shively, Columbia City; Michael (Arnetta) Wallbrown, Bellefontaine, Ohio; Penny (John) Kerrigan, Lewisburg, Ohio; and great-grandchildren: Jennifer (Verl) Fike; Colby Richard Lee Wallbrown; Reyse Michael Wallbrown; Kennedy Sue Wallbrown; and Blake Christopher Kerrigan; sisters: Ruth Douglas, Ormas; Nancy Wright, Panama City, Fla.; and Mary Kay (Budd) Walls, Fort Wayne; brother: Tony (Janice) Clingerman, Kimmel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Benny; Bill; and Don Clingerman; and sister: Dixie Nie.

Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, Columbia City, with a graveside service to follow at 3 p.m. at Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam.

Memorial gifts may be given in Joan’s memory to Faith Christian Academy Preschool.
