It’s time for spring planting and The Herb Lady, Janette Stackhouse, will help you start off the growing season with her popular Hooked on Herbs class at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 2. In this class, Stackhouse will teach how to select, grow, harvest, and use culinary and ornamental herbs.
She will cover selecting the right herbs to plant, when and where to plant them, soil conditions needed for optimum growth, and how to use fresh herbs while they are still growing. The class is free and open to the public. No pre-registration is needed, so bring your friends and get hooked on herbs.
Journalist and biographer Sam Weller will visit Voyager Book Club at 10 a.m. Monday, April 27, to share his experience of knowing and writing about the late Ray Bradbury, one of America’s iconic authors of the 20th century. The book club members will also discuss books by Ray Bradbury that they have read. Everyone is invited to attend.
It will be breakfast for dinner at Revolving Recipe Round-Up at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 28. Everyone is to bring a breakfast dish or baked item to sample and share along with the recipe. This group is for anyone who enjoys food and cooking. It’s always a fun time of discovering new recipes and making friends.
The library provides the table service and free coffee and bottled water. No sign-up is needed. Just make and bring a dish and join in the fellowship.
The North Webster Community Public Library is also a contributing sponsor of the Shanna Zolman homecoming at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 2, in the North Webster Community Center Gym. Ticket holders will enjoy an evening with Wawasee’s own “Miss Basketball” as she shares her story and experiences. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and children and can be purchased at the North Webster Community Center, Wawasee High School, and Milford Middle School. Proceeds go to help support the North Webster Community Center.
