The Kosciusko REMC Operation Round-Up Fund, a component fund of the Kosciusko County Community Foundation, recently awarded a grant of $5,000 to Joe’s Kids, a nonprofit pediatric rehabilitation clinic in Warsaw. Joe’s Kids provides physical, occupational and speech therapy to children with special needs or developmental delays.
Community support allows Joe’s Kids to provide ongoing services to its children. Lower reimbursement rates for pediatrics cause operational deficits, which must be offset by the generosity of supporters like Kosciusko REMC Operation Round-Up. The grant was awarded to Joe’s Kids for support of its operational expenses.
“We are very grateful for the support of the Kosciusko REMC Operation Round-Up Fund,” said Executive Director of Joe’s Kids, Rebecca Bazzoni. “In the past year, our clinic has doubled in capacity, now serving over 120 families. This sort of growth would not be possible without financial gifts from our community. Together we will continue to make a difference in the lives of these special children and their families.”
Kosciusko REMC encourages its members to “round up” their electric bills to the nearest whole dollar. The extra cents are deposited into the Kosciusko REMC Operation Round-Up Fund, which supports a variety of charitable causes in communities served by Kosciusko REMC.
