Valley Sports Wrap – April 21
The Tippecanoe Valley softball team lost an 11-4 final Tuesday to Culver Academies.
Katie Gunter took the pitching loss for the host Vikings. She allowed 11 hits, while striking out five and walking five in the seven inning contest.
Valley was outhit 11-6 and had seven errors in the loss.
Amanda Shepherd led the offense for Valley by going 2-3 with a double and an RBI.
Kaitlyn Ott had a hit and scored a run for the Vikings.
Valley will play in the Wabash Tournament on Saturday.
Viking Track Teams In TRC Action
The Valley boys and girls track teams competed in a Three Rivers Conference triangular at home Tuesday night.
Wabash won the boys meet with 63 points. Northfields finished with 62 and Valley 31.
Northfield won the girls meet with 80 points. Valley was second with 41 points and Wabash had 34.
McKayla Ruiz won both the discus (76-5) and shot put (33-11 1/2) events for Valley. Lexi O’Connell won the 100 hurdles in 16.38 and was second in the 300 hurdles. Karl Kitch placed second in the 3,200.
Both Valley teams will compete in the Warrior Relays at North Miami on Friday night.
