Haskel Alvin Hickey, 79, of Bremen, passed away at 7:07 a.m., Wednesday, April 22, 2015, in his home surrounded by family.
Haskel was born on November 18, 1935, in White Pine, Tenn., the son of the late Paul and Estella “Pearl” (Turner) Hickey. On Jan. 16, 1957, he married Irene Whitt.
Haskel proudly served his country in the U.S. Army before his honorable discharge in 1956. He attended Bremen Missionary Church and loved the Lord. His hobbies included fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his loving wife: Irene; three children: Michael (Cindy) Hickey, Bremen; Doris (Rex) Dumph, Bremen; Janet (Wayne) Parish, Nappanee; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Lockie (Cleason) Owens, Rutledge, Tenn.; Linda (Charles) Cartwright of Plymouth and Debbie (Scott) Long, Morristown, Tenn.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son: Jerry Allen Hickey; grandchild: Andrew Hickey; three brothers; and two sisters.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, April 24, in Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 SR 331, Bremen. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 25, 2015 in the funeral home with Pastor Gary Hinkle officiating. Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery with full military honors.
