Triton Tennis Remains Undefeated

The Triton girls tennis team continued to roll right along Monday night.

The undefeated Trojans did not drop a set in blanking host Rochester 5-0 in non-conference action.

Kaelyn Mason led the way for coach Al Peckham’s team with a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles.

Sheryl May posted a 6-1, 7-6 (7-2) victory at No. 2 singles for the Trojans. Hannah Wvnemacher completed the singles sweep with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 3.

Kylie Mason and Kolbie Mason won 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles. The pair of Quinn Downing and Emma Ross won, also 6-3, 6-2, at No. 2 doubles.

Triton improves to 4-0 on the season, while Rochester is now 2-2.

Rochester won the junior varsity action 5-0.

Triton plays at Whitko today and at LaVille Wednesday.

Softball Steady In Big Win

Triton mashed 17 hits and plated at least a run in every inning in defeating host Knox 10-4 Monday afternoon.

Triton’s trio of Taytum Hargrave, Hannah Jennings and Lexee Lemler each had three hits and combined for four of the Lady Trojans’ 10 runs scored. Jennings had a key hit in the third, driving in Zoee Stephen, who led off the inning with a single. The RBI put Triton up 3-2, to which a passed ball later allowed Nicole Secrist to score the second run of the inning, keeping Triton ahead to stay in the game.

Hargrave had a triple in the game and Heather Stichter added her second homer of the season for the Trojans, which improve to 3-3 on the season.

Brycelyn Garbison settled in after a shaky first inning to hold Knox to just six hits and two earned runs in the complete game. She walked one and struck out three to even her record at 2-2.

Leslie Kroft led Knox (3-1) with three hits and four RBIs.

Triton returns to action Wednesday at home against John Glenn.
