The Indiana Department of Education is presenting a free Global Learning Workshop for Hoosier educators on Tuesday, April 21, at the Manahan Orthopedic Capital Center. The workshop will feature panels of education leaders and international partners and will inform participants about partnerships, resources, and programs to advance global learning programs in Indiana schools.
“Connecting educators with global business leaders and education experts is essential to providing a high quality, global education to all Hoosier students,” said Indiana’s Superintendent of Public Instruction, Glenda Ritz. “It is imperative that Indiana’s students graduate from high school with global understanding that are valued by business and industry leaders, so that they can be successful in their future careers. The Global Learning Workshop will provide our educators with an opportunity to learn and discuss new, innovative approaches to teaching global learning programs throughout Indiana.”
“This program will be quite beneficial as all of the global skills listed in the description are becoming more and more necessary as our world becomes more connected,” observed Communications Specialist for OrthoWorx, Inc., Gennie Brissette-Tipton.
The Global Learning Workshop is presented in collaboration with DePuy Synthes, OrthoWorx, the Region 8 Education Service Center, Warsaw Community Schools, Indiana University Center for the Study of Global Change and Area Studies Consortium, and with support from the Longview Foundation for World Affairs and International Understanding.
