Mrs. Martha Ellen DeTurk, 85, of Rochester, passed away at 2:40 p.m. Sunday, April 12, at her residence.

On March 14, 1930, Martha was born in Bradshaw, W.V. to Tom and Millie Blankenship Blankenship. She was one of 11 children.

Martha and Guy DeTurk were married on March 21, 1953, in Grundy, Va., and moved to Indiana, making the Rochester community their home. They shared 53 years of life’s adventures. Guy passed away on April 12, 2006.

Martha was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family and her canine and feline companions.

Martha is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Barbara Ball of Rochester; her son, Cecil Blankenship and wife Farrah of Oakwood, Va.; four grandchildren: Bruce W. Wiard Jr., Michelle Grubbs, Destiney R. McKenzie and Melinda Martin; six great grandchildren: Stephanie Grubbs, Kyleigh Grubbs, Tiffany Martin, Derek Martin, Zachary McKenzie, Abigail McKenzie; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Martha in death are her parents, husband, 10 sisters and brothers.

Private family services will be held. Interment will be in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery.

Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester, was in charge of arrangements.
