The Whitko softball team edged past host Huntington North 4-3 Wednesday evening.

The Wildcats scored the winning run in their final at bat in the top of the seventh frame to top the Vikings.

Winning pitcher Aly Nicodemus had a hit for the Wildcats.

Also with hits for the winners were Emily Hughes, Hanna Yohe, Haley Yohe and Whitney Marsh. Kennedy Krull had a key sacrifice bunt in the final inning for Whitko.

Whitko wil play a doubleheader at Bluffton Saturday starting at noon.

JV Baseball Team Victorious

The Whitko junior varsity basetball team topped Churubusco 3-2.

Reed Brace led the winners with two hits, a run scored and a stolen base.

Alex Robbins notched the pitching win in relief for the Wildcats.

Whitko (1-0) hosts Columbia City today at 5 p.m.
