Lavern Ray “Butch” Scott, 71, of Rochester, passed away at 10:20 p.m. Saturday, April 4, at his residence.

He was born in Hammond to Authur and Freda (Bruce) Scott on Feb. 27, 1944.

Scott retired from Dean Foods and had been a member of the Eagles Lodge. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping and driving around in his truck visiting friends and family.

Survivors include his children: Jackie Horn, Rochester; Bruce (Mary) Scott, Rochester; Vicky (Phil) Bailey, Culver; Grandchildren: Anthony Ray Coplen, Auburn; Amy Rose, Auburn; Carla Conrad, Kokomo; David Scott, Rochester; Nikolai Conrad, Kokomo; Yuri Conrad, Kokomo; companion: Tammy Keefer, Rochester; brother: George F. Scott, Indianapolis; sisters: Gladys (John) Galloway, Rochester; Connie (Peter) Terpstra II, Indianapolis; Sandra (Jim) Wisenberg, Sebring, Fla.; sister-in-law: Kathy McCalla, Rochester; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother; father; Echo L. McCalla; sister: Barbara Turner; brothers: Harold McCalla and infant James Scott.
