The Wyldz, a Austin-based, heavy hitting three-piece rock band, comprised of Mitch Bassoul (vocals and bass), Alex Dhee (guitar), and Oliv Porrini (drums), are gearing up for the release of their new studio album, “Interstellar Troubadours,” and hitting the road on their spring U.S. tour. With dates already confirmed throughout the south and Midwest, The Wyldz are bringing their distinctive brand of neo-classic rock n’ roll to new audiences throughout the month of April and May.
Earlier this year, The Wyldz collaborated with legendary engineer Steve Albini (Nirvana, The Pixies, Robert Plant and Jimmy Page) on their upcoming album, “Interstellar Troubadours.” Convening in Albini’s famed Electrical Audio studio in Chicago, the trio recorded the entire 12-track album in just six days, completely analog. Additional mixing handled by Grammy-nominated engineer Mark Needham (The Airborne Toxic Event, Scott Weiland).

“We wanted to record ‘Interstellar Troubadour’ on tape to capture the live experience and the warmth as if you are in the room with us,” explains drummer Oliv Porrini. “Whether performing together in the studio or onstage, we share a mutual freedom of musical expression, a very natural and extraordinary alchemy,” says guitarist Alex Dhee.
From Austin, Texas, by way of Paris, France, The Wyldz play a distinctive and engaging mix of rock ‘n’ roll all their own. While drawing inspiration from some of the greatest musical artists of the 1960s and 70s, the band does so with a contemporary flair that feels utterly invigorating. The three musicians first met while studying at the college of contemporary music in Paris, L’École Atla. They had all played with one another in various outfits before uniting as The Wyldz in 2010 with the shared dream of creating truly world-class rock ‘n’ roll and the mutual determination to take their music to as many people as possible.
The Wyldz well play at the historic Melody Inn in Indianapolis at 9 p.m. Monday, April 13. Tickets are $5. Visit www.melodyindy.com for more information.
