SOUTH WHITLEY – The Whitko softball team opened its season Wednesday in impressive fashion.

The host Wildcats posted a 10-0 win over Churubusco in six innings.

Tori Silveus collected the pitching win for Whitko as she allowed the Eagles just one hit in the contest.

Emily Hughes drove in the final run in the sixth inning to end the contest by the 10-run rule for the Wildcats.

Whitko’s home game scheduled for today versus Lakeland has been postponed. The Wildcats next game is at Huntington North on April 8 at 5 p.m.
