Bethel Pilots SportsKANSAS CITY, MO. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2014-15 Division II Men’s Basketball All-America teams honoring two players from Bethel College.

After averaging 19.7 points and 8.7 rebounds per game, senior Matt Schauss was named First-Team All-American. Schauss becomes the first Pilot player to earn the honor since William Walker in 2009. Despite suffering a season-ending knee injury the 6-4 point guard ended his career with 1,963 points, 779 rebounds and 551 assists.

Clay Yeo, a sophomore transfer from Valparaiso University, earned Second-Team All-American honors after leading his team and the Crossroads League in scoring with 21 points per game. In his first year in a Bethel uniform, Yeo poured in 714 points, THE most for a sophomore in school history.

The Bethel College men’s basketball team finished the season 27-7 while earning their 12th national tournament appearance.
