Well, it was a dreary cold Friday for the First Friday “March Into Future Opportunities” celebration, but, despite the weather, more than a few people descendent on downtown Warsaw for the event.
Groups like Red Cross, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Kiwanis and Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club were on site to educate people on the community opportunities they offer. The Optimists host an Oratorical Contest at the Kosciusko County Courthouse.
A group of enterprising young people took the podium before a packed house in the old courthouse chambers. They spoke on what optimism means to them, and how staying optimistic will help them achieve their goals.
For April’s First Friday event, organizers are planning a “Back to the Future” theme, followed by “Musical May.” May is also expected to unveil the “Bike into Bicentennial” displays downtown. Decorative bikes will be on display in downtown Warsaw throughout the summer.
