NAPPANEE – The Whitko boys basketball team closed out the regular season with a loss at NorthWood Friday night.

The host Panthers rolled to the 75-33 win in the regular-season finale for both teams.

NorthWood, now 19-2 on the season, led 29-8 after the opening period en route to the win.

Nate Walpole led Whitko with 13 points.

Tanner Gaff and Cole Kessie each scored six points for the Wildcats. Devon Adkins had four points and River West and Garrett Smiley each added two.

Whitko, which has lost its last four games, drops to 6-16.

The Wildcats play Wawasee Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the opening game of the Class 3-A West Noble Sectional.

NorthWood, which has won six in a row, will face West Noble Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Class 3-A West Noble Sectional.
