The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department’s phone lines and e-mail systems have now been restored. Anyone needing to contact the department can now use these services, which had been unavailable for most of the business day today.

The cause of the malfunctions are related to server rooms in the County Administrative Building at 117 N. Second St., in Goshen overheating. According to Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department Capt James L. Bradberry copper tubing was stolen from air conditioning units located at the building.

Officers were called to investigate the theft and are continuing their investigation into this incident.
