The White House Internship Program announced participants for the spring 2015 session Friday, Feb. 20. Four Indiana natives have been selected to participate. They are:
* Connor Brashear, hometown of Washington and Indiana University Bloomington
* James Brokaw, hometown of Indianapolis and University of Notre Dame
* Olivia Fitchett, hometown of Sellersburg and Indiana University Southeast
* Matthew Stefanski, hometown of Valparaiso and Indiana University Bloomington
The mission for the program is to prepare future leaders for public service and make the White House more accessible to them. The internship provides a unique opportunity to gain professional experience and build skills.
Interns work in one of several White House departments, including the domestic policy council, the national economic council, the office of cabinet affairs, the office of communications, the office of digital strategy, the office of the First Lady, the office of legislative affairs, the office of management and administration, the office of presidential correspondence and the office of the Vice President, among others.
