North Webster Library events this week:
Got bacon? Prepare a dish with bacon in it and bring it to Revolving Recipe Round-Up at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24. We will then enjoy sampling each others’ dishes and trading recipes. The library provides the table service along with free coffee and bottled water. If you enjoy cooking, discovering new foods, and collecting recipes, you will want to take part in this monthly program where the best part is making new friends.
If you like to garden, you won’t want to miss Purdue Extension Educator Kelly Heckaman’s program on “How to Grow Seeds” at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28. She will explain how to start plants from seeds in preparation for spring planting. The program is free and open to the public, so mark your calendar to attend.
Treat the family to a free night at the movies during Family Movie Time on at 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26. The library will be showing an animated fantasy comedy that tells the story of a boy raised by trash-collecting trolls who attempts to save them from an evil pest exterminator. The movie is rated PG and runs 100 minutes. Even the popcorn is free and you are welcome to bring your own beverages.
From 3:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. every Tuesday after school, kids in kindergarten through third grade are invited to the library to make crafts while listening to stories, and at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. every Wednesday morning preschoolers gather for Story Time with stories, crafts, and fun.
Did you know you don’t need a library card to attend our programs? They are open to everyone. Of course, you do need a library card to borrow books and movies. A North Webster Library card is free to anyone living in Tippecanoe Township, and we also accept cards from any library within the statewide Evergreen library system. Keep informed of upcoming programs and browse our online catalog by visiting our website at www.nweb.lib.in.us.
