The Warsaw Building and Planning Department has gotten of to a quick start in 2015 as they try to match, or even surpass, what was a very productive 2014 year.

The building department issued 557 total permits during the 2014 year, including 72 new home permits. Warsaw experienced nearly $25 million in commercial construction during the year, along with $17 million in residential construction. 2014 also saw the city break ground on Phase 1 of the Warsaw Technology Park, and receive $1.7 million in federal funds to be put towards Phase 2 of the Market Street project. On the year as a whole, the department reviewed and issued 316 violation letters, and acted on 36 code hearings.

2015 has already gotten off to a great start, and the WBPD hopes to keep the momentum going with such goals and projects as the completion of phase 1 of the Technology Park, a Mariner Drive reconstruction project, continued development of the city’s growing network of bike and walking paths and progress in talks to begin the Buffalo Street Redevelopment Project.
