UPDATE: Wreck On US 30

UPDATE: According to a report from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, at 6:35 a.m. Monday, Feb. 16, Jan C. Carter, 74, Denzil Drive, Columbia City, was westbound on US 30 when a gust of wind caught his vehicle and “sucked” his car off the roadway.

Carter’s vehicle slid sideways and rolled over at least twice before coming to a rest right-side-up. Carter was checking by paramedics at the scene and declined any further treatment.

Linda K. Carter, 70, the passenger in the vehicle was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital for pain in her shoulder and arm. Damages are estimated up to $5,000.


INITIAL REPORT: Emergency personnel have responded to an automobile accident at the 9400 block of East US 30 near Pierceton.

Only one vehicle with one occupant was involved. The driver was reported to be unresponsive as of the initial dispatch. The driver was transported to an area hospital.
